Got Your JoeFest Wardrobe Sorted?
Blogged by Hannah Davies
As the weather gets warmer and JoeFest gets closer, my thoughts are turning to my festival wardrobe. This has, in part, been helped by the sales starting. l keep accidentally ending up in Zara and unintentionally spending money!
I am a complete sucker for something that is reduced (definitely get that from my Mum). It’s normally the slightly wacky clothing that ends up in the sale, and I personally think for a festival, the more bright and out there, the better. The more glitter, the more fun you’re probably going to have, right? And if you can’t wear it to a festival, then when can you?
When I first started going to festivals when i was 16, I prioritised practicality over style, opting for a vest and shorts and topping it off with a flower crown. I have certainly grown to be more bold in my festival wear, and here I am going to share with you some of the outfits I recently put together!
First of all, metallic all the way! If it’s gold or silver I will be wearing it at JoeFest, I can’t get enough of the brightness and dancing under the stage lights like a disco ball.
Secondly: Trousers. Any trouser! They keep you groovy and moving about and are ideal if the weather is slightly cooler. Every shop at the moment seems to be stocking them in all sorts of colours and prints. Go for a looser leg to be on-trend this year.
Thirdly: layers. Top under dungarees, denim jacket over the top, and you’re sorted for a day to night look to take you from This Stage to That Stage.
My advice for this year’s JoeFest is simple:
- If you think it’s too much, it probably isn’t. Wear it anyway (think Joe in his garish shirts – Exhibit A from 2015)
- Girls, it’s all about the french plaits and glitter around the eyes. Now, I know not everyone is a master plaiter, but never fear as we will have our plaiting people on site to keep your hair looking glam (just visit The Salon in the Arena)!
- Wear trainers for maximum comfort plus extra fashion points.
- The most important thing is that you feel happy, comfortable and have lots of fun!
Can’t wait to see you all there!
PS – can we just spend a moment to appreciate the Hawaiian shirt competition of JoeFest 2015. Here are some of the Lincoln lads all in matching shirts, which might I add, they still love and wear every year!
It’s not long until the festival so better get planning what you’ll be wearing! If you haven’t got your ticket yet don’t forget you can get £5 off this month using the promo code ‘July’ from joefest.co.uk.
